Hideki Matsuyama Sets INSANE PGA Tour Record at The Sentry
Hideki Matsuyama set what is considered to be an insane PGA TOUR record through his four days at Kapalua at The Sentry this past weekend, reaching a score that nobody in history had before him.
Matsuyama seemed to be in ultimate control over the course of the four-day event, which was held at the Plantation Course. The Sentry is stacked with winners from the previous year, so competition is stiff.
However, Japan’s only Master’s Champion came out of the gates in the 2025 season with no regard for his competition, dominating the field and reaching an illustrious 35 under par for the week, setting a new PGA TOUR record:

The previous record was held by Cameron Smith at Kapalua in The Sentry a few years ago when he finished -34 for the weekend.
Interestingly, Colin Morikawa, the runner-up at this weekend’s event, was fourth all-time with his score of -32. He finished three shots back of Matsuyama.
