Ian Poulter and Matt Fitzpatrick Spotted Wearing Mics For Netflix Series During WGC Match Play
Ian Poulter and Matt Fitzpatrick were spotted wearing microphones at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play as part of the new PGA TOUR Netflix series they are filming during this season.
Both golfers were seen wearing a black clip-on object on their hats, later revealed to be a microphone.
The power of @netflix: here is @MattFitz94 wearing a microphone for the forthcoming show, as pointed out on todays @GolfChannel @DellMatchPlay telecast. Yet the @PGATOUR’s network partners paying huge money have largely struck out trying to get players to wear them. pic.twitter.com/sIlBHikPri

Both players missed the cut for this week’s event, but it will be interesting to see if other players start wearing these microphones in other events on TOUR. They look pretty big and bulky, so I can’t imagine that players will be rushing to wear one.
As we know, golfers are superstitious, and adding a black box to their hats is not a part of their normal golf attire. It was probably easier to convince guys to wear them this week, but I’m sure trying to convince players to wear them in a major will be nearly impossible.

Although players might not be jumping all over wearing them, it sure will give viewers a good insight into what players and caddies talk about on the course when the Netflix show does come out.
Keep an eye out on TOUR to see if any other players are wearing mics on their hats in weeks to come.
