Daniel Berger, who was just in a rules controversy at THE PLAYERS Championship, found himself in another rules controversy Friday at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, but this time Berger was on the other side of the controversy.

Tyrrell Hatton hit his approach shot on the 9th hole at Austin Country Club and it ended up in the native area next to the green. Hatton and Berger had a dispute about where the ball crossed the penalty area so Berger had Hatton’s caddie stand where Hatton hit his original approach shot.

The microphones caught Berger saying, “I knew we were going to have this conversation” to Hatton.

Footage showed that Hatton’s ball landed long and left of the green in the native area. But Berger simply told Hatton that “it’s up to you” so he dropped where he thought it crossed, 123 yards out from the green.

Hatton went on to make double bogey and Berger made par and brought the match back to all square.

Berger seemed to handle this situation a little better than at THE PLAYERS, Although this time it wasn’t Berger taking the drop.
