Joaquin Niemann is Trying to Recruit Another PGA TOUR Player to Join LIV
With the 2023 LIV Golf season debut set for next month, we haven’t had any big names announced for the series since the 2022 season came to a close in late October. This is despite LIV CEO Greg Norman saying he was looking to add seven golfers to the roster during the offseason.
But for the second time in recent months, Mito Pereira’s name has come up in the LIV rumor mill, and now, fellow Chilean Joaquin Niemann is talking about his recruiting pitch.
A report in the Chilean newspaper La Tercera has quotes from Niemann where he talks about trying to lure the 27-year-old countryman to LIV, saying, “I’d love to bring him in; I’m doing my best.”

In November, Pereira was the only current PGA Tour member to join a host of LIV pros at Sergio Garcia’s charity event, which started the speculation over his future.
Niemann, who won the Genesis Invitational last year on the PGA Tour, joined LIV Golf following the Tour Championship and won $4 million in prize money in four tournaments for LIV.
Pereira is best known for leading the PGA Championship for the bulk of the tournament this past May before finishing with a double bogey on 18 that left him one shot shy of joining Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris in a playoff. He’s played in three PGA Tour events this season with a best finish of fourth at the Shriners Children’s Open.
