Justin Thomas’s Win at RBC Heritage Brings a Difficult Decision
Justin Thomas snapped an extensive winless streak this past weekend at the RBC Heritage, but even with a win, things are about to get a lot more difficult.
In fact, it truly was a chance thing. Many golfers might be in this same predicament from time to time, but it is pretty rare that one finds themselves in a situation that JT finds himself in now.
It is in regard to his caddie situation. As The Masters, Thomas was forced to find a replacement for his usual sidekick, Matt “Rev” Minister, who hurt his back the week before Augusta and was unable to carry the bag for the two-time PGA Champion.
Joe Greiner Gets First Gig After Max Homa for The Masters with Justin Thomas
As Joe Greiner was out of work after a recent parting with long-time friend and partner Max Homa, Thomas requested him to carry the bag. The results have been better than expected.
Thomas finished T36 at Augusta, but his performance over the past four days at the RBC Heritage culminated in a tied course record and his first PGA TOUR win since the PGA Championship at Southern Hills back in 2022.

Now, Thomas has a really interesting situation on his hands. He had not won a tournament with Minister on the bag, yet Greiner was able to assist JT with his first win in a few years.
The decision seems easy enough:
What a week for Joe Greiner. JT was going to win soon regardless of who was on the bag, but you have to wonder if this will become a full time partnership. pic.twitter.com/FrfeaDpfji

What Thomas chooses to do remains to be seen. He has not publicly announced a permanent partnership with Greiner quite yet, but we would imagine the switch could be made in the coming days.
