The long-awaited LIV Tour is here presenting its first tournament of the year. With the likes of Phil, DJ, Louis, Sergio, Westwood, and others making up the 48-man field. None other than the man that was just trailing Scottie Scheffler in the Master during the beginning of the weekend is in the lead.

That’s right, former Masters champion Charl Schwartzel in the lead has a 3-shot lead over fellow South African Hennie Du Plessis.

Here is a partial leaderboard with some familiar names scattered around. Mickelson had a rough round today after a solid start in round one finishing -1 is now at +4 thru two rounds. He would need something extra special to happen. Dustin Johnson has an outside chance if he can post something low, however, he would need some help from Schwartzel.

The course is playing long and difficult for the majority of the field. Schwartzel seems to have it figured out after two rounds and will likely only need to post -1 or -2 to guarantee the first official winner on the LIV.

If Schwartzel wins he will take home 4 million dollars with the second-place player taking home just over 2 million. He is likely to take home more than that because his team is in the lead as well which will consist of a 5 million dollar purse. The team payouts have not been clearly detailed like the individual payouts, we shall see once more details develop.
