Everyone has the dream golf goal that they hope to accomplish. For one man, however, he was finally able to reach his lofty goal after years of teeing off in his home state.

H. John Krueger is a 68-year-old man from Wisconsin who is an avid golfer. The man loves golf so much, that he has never missed an opportunity to play. He and his wife Ann have played on every one of their vacations, once even playing 36 holes every day for 16 days straight. Ann also tells how she and her husband spent their honeymoon playing golf non-stop, finishing with 54 holes on their final day.

For John, however, this wasn’t enough golf for him. So for the past 30 years, Krueger has made it his mission to play every single course, private and public, in the state of Wisconsin. John finally completed that goal this month, after playing the final course that he knows of in the state, a secret private club called Pan Yack Park. He has heard of another secret course in the Lake Geneva area but isn’t sure the name or if it exists. If it does, he’s sure to find a way to play it.

Before picking up the game, John got his first taste of golf by picking up stones on a local course as a high schooler. At that time, he says he hated the game. “As I picked the stones, I was thinking, ‘Thank God I am getting paid, as I doubt I will ever play this stupid game called golf.’ I now have to swallow some crow as I have been a member of their men’s golf club for 26 years,” Krueger said.

Playing for so long, it probably wouldn’t surprise you to know that Krueger is a pretty good player. He claims that his handicap used to be in the single digits consistently, but after a battle with prostate cancer and getting older, he sits between a 10 and a 14. But now that he’s got the inside scoop for every course in his state, maybe he can work on lowering that number again.

With this feat now accomplished, Krueger will likely stick to his home courses and continue to play but we wouldn’t be surprised to see him traveling the country in a quest to play every course out there.
