Negotiations for Another Major Winner to Join LIV Golf Have Fallen Apart
Well, it turns out that Jon Rahm won’t be getting everything that he wants for the 2024 LIV Golf season.
It was reported earlier in the week that the fields for the new season will be increased – which was on Rahm’s wish list before joining the league. But now, it appears that a 2023 Major winner that the Spaniard wanted on his new team won’t be making the jump after all.
The X (formerly Twitter) account “Flushing It,” which was on top of the Rahm news late last year, is reporting that Wyndham Clark will not be joining LIV Golf. In fact, Clark is in this week’s The American Express event on the PGA Tour.
Yeah. Talks fell through 👍

Last week, the same account reported that the 2023 U.S. Open champion would be joining Rahm’s team, along with top amateur Caleb Suratt and one other golfer.

Shortly after Rahm signed on with LIV in December, it was heavily rumored that close friend Tony Finau would be joining him, but that didn’t come to fruition either.
It leaves Rahm at a bit of a disadvantage to fill out his four-man team, which is being added to the existing 12 that LIV has fielded since it debuted in mid-2022.
The LIV season tees off in a little over three weeks on Feb. 2 in Mayakoba, Mexico.
