Nelly Korda Cards a 10 at Women’s U.S. Open

Nelly Korda began her US Open conquest full of confidence, arguably the best golfer in the world right now, after notching five consecutive wins in 2024 and her second major.

She’s won six of her last seven, eclipsing Scottie Scheffler’s run of four in his last five before the PGA.

Korda came into Lancaster Country Club, Pennsylvania, as World #1, the clear favorite, and rolling in on an all-time high.

Having started with a bogey on the 10th, the world number one stepped up to the par three 12th and promptly hit three balls in the water.

three balls in the water. Her tee shot went long before hitting it down the slope for her second and finding the drink. From the drop zone, she found the water two more times. Her demeanor was consistent throughout, a stony silence, yet not angry or unprofessional. Jon Rahm, Tyrell Hatton and co could learn a thing or two.

The final result was a septuple bogey 10, which led to an 80-point final round score. If you’d told me a month ago that Nelly Korda would shoot 80 and Scottie Scheffler would be arrested in the same month, I’d have been shocked.
