These ‘Golf’ Pants Stayed On My Body for Three Days!

These “golf” pants stayed on my body for three days — and they were good for basically any activity, including 18 holes on the course!

Some of you might be wondering why I put quotations around the word “golf,” and it’s quite simple: these Five-Pocket Pants from New Found Thread are not specifically geared toward golf. However, they work for that, and much more.

New Found Thread is an Atlanta-based company that has long worked on what is, in my mind, the perfect pair of pants. Initially, the company worked to create perfect pockets, and although these pants still equip an ideal and crafty microfiber pocket that is perfect for cleaning sunglasses, phone screens, or your range finder, that is just one of the best parts.

Three Days Straight

I challenged myself to wear these pants for three straight days, equipping them for everything from lounging, to a dressy dinner, to a quick round with friends.

There are several things I love about these pants, but the most favorable feature is absolutely the fit. While they’re not labeled as a “slim fit” pant, they are fitted and tailored to your specific sizing needs and requests. 

New Found Thread is able to fulfill basically any sizing need, offering as many combinations of inseam and waist length as your mind can come up with.

On The Course

Now, there are a few things to understand with New Found Thread that will differ from your traditional golf pant. It is important to remember that these pants are not specifically geared toward golf use, but they do more than a fine job of being ideal for that specifically.

While other brands, like FootJoy, Nike, or even Lululemon have what I would consider a more “ideal” material for golf, does it really matter? Of course, some of us want moisture wicking material, stretch fabric, an athletic waistband, and other features, but it is almost nitpick-y to consider a pair of pants unfavorable for golf simply because they do not check off every box.

In fact, most of us are worried about cost effectiveness, and what is more important is getting more than a single-use case out of a pair of pants we just spent $100+ on. That, to me, is the biggest advantage of these pants specifically.

I can wear these to dinner right after I played 18 holes. I can clean my sunglassses with the oversized pockets, and I can touch up on the lens of my rangefinder at the same time. I also don’t feel constricted in these pants while taking swings, and I don’t feel like my pockets are going to burst when I have a divot tool, a spare ball, tees, and other necessary golf equipment in there.

They also look great with a pair of athletic or dressy shoes, which is something other pants simply cannot do. You’re usually fixed to a certain shoe style based on the fit of a pant or the color or even the material.

Not with these.

On the Couch

Now, I am not going to sit here and tell you these are more ideal to lounge in than a pair of sweatpants that are a size too big, that would just be riduclous.

But I am going to tell you that these are a very comfortable pant to sit around in. Let’s say you have a long ride home from your in-laws, or you are trapped watching TV on their couch while you count the minutes ’til you can go home.

Of course, you still have to look presentable, and these New Found Thread pants are going to give you the best of both worlds.

Whether you’re actually paying attention to the TV or you are mindlessly scrolling on TikTok, it doesn’t matter. Heck, you can clean your phone screen off with the microfiber pockets while you wait to leave. 

A Variety of Colors and Sizes

One thing that there is no shortage of with New Found Thread is the options in terms of colors and sizes. 

There are six different colors and twenty-six sizing options, with waist sizes ranging from 31″ to 42″, and inseam sizing going from as small as 30″ to 34″.

In my experience with these pants, everything with them was as described. They were comfortable, wrinkle-free, and soft while also offering sturdiness.
