PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCED: Callaway Teams Up with Steph Curry

Perhaps one of the greatest joys of golf that we can all experience is growing the game.  Indeed, whether it’s just convincing some friends to hit up the local driving range and see who can it the furthest, or maybe being fortunate enough to share in the experience of a new golfer’s first round, there’s not much that can compare to sharing your passion for the game with others.

Fortunately, certain brands and individuals have taken this endeavor to heart and look to do their part to help grow the game on a much larger scale.

Callaway Golf Company is one of those brands, as shown by their investments in junior programs:

Three-time NBA champ Steph Curry, likewise, has also undertaken several efforts to help grow the game, including helping Howard University launch its first-ever Division 1 golf program.  Indeed, Curry made a generous pledge to help fund the men’s and women’s golf programs for the next 6 years in the hopes that the endowment may eventually become self sufficient.  In response, Callaway stepped up and announced that it would be the official golf equipment provider for the program.

In light of the foregoing, it was natural that Callaway and Steph Curry would cross paths and, eventually, team up together to achieve a shared goal.

Callaway and Curry have announced that the duo are entering into a unique, multi-year partnership dedicated to expanding the game by making it more accessible to underserved and underrepresented youth.

Curry is clearly very excited about the joint endeavor.  “I am beyond excited for the opportunity to work with Callaway Golf.  Their ability to think outside the box on how we can collectively grow the game of golf is second to none,” Curry said.  ” I can’t wait to begin rolling out some of our ideas to make golf more accessible to boys and girls around the world.”

Likewise, Callaway appears to be eager, as Callaway’s President & CEO Chip Brewer stated that, “We’ve found an incredibly likeminded partner in Stephen.  His love of golf is something we at Callaway immediately connected with.  And over time we realized we shared much more than that: a vision to create opportunities for access to the sport for people that might not have it.  With our support, Stephen is uniquely positioned to create meaningful experiences in golf.”

While the announcement doesn’t disclose any specifics, the two have demonstrated their commitment to growing the game and it’ll be very interesting to see how things play out in near future.
