Last week, we talked about the story behind LIV Golf’s deal with the CW Network. With terms of the deal not being disclosed, it leaves many to wonder whether the network will be putting any money into LIV’s pockets.

A report by golf insider Dan Rapaport from Barstool Sports claims that one golfer who had a deal on the table from LIV had it pulled once the deal with CW was made official.

While it seems odd that getting more exposure would lead to a lower financial offer, but that’s what this golfer reportedly feels. Regardless, it’s the first time where it appears that money could be a factor for the new series.

LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman said at the end of last year that they would likely add seven golfers who were looking to be “liberated” from the PGA Tour or DP World Tour before the start of the 2023 campaign.

The LIV season is just about a month away from starting at Mayakoba, and no new additions to the roster have been named.

The only one who has been linked to LIV is Chilean Mito Pereira, who was spotted at Sergio Garcia’s charity fundraiser and was also the target of a recruiting effort by Joaquin Niemann.
