He started strong, ready to take on the challenge, but was clearly faltering after three days. On Day 4 of the 6 he managed 20 miles, despite having informed us of a foot fracture through the stress. Armed with walking poles to assist him, his fans lined up to watch him arrive at Gleneagles Resort. At this point the total money raised stood at £60,000.

A fantastic feel-good story and a staggering amount of money raised, which will make a huge difference to those suffering with the terrible illness, that affects 1 in 8 men. It was a demanding and well-thought out challenge to undertake for Shiels, and it was entertaining to follow.
He appeared to be pushing through some serious pain. Day 6 saw the finale at St. Andrews on Father’s Day (19th June), where Shiels attracted a swarm of supporters lining the fairways and joining him up the famous 1st and 18th holes. He stuck around with his fans at the end, signing autographs and promoting the good cause.
