The famed Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles will host both Men’s and Women’s golf competition at the 2028 Olympic Games, the International Golf Federation announced today.

The course will have just celebrated its 102nd birthday by the time the next Summer Olympic Games roll around, and has already hosted a handful of notable events including the 1995 PGA Championship, 1998 U.S. Senior Open, 2017 U.S. Amateur. It will host the 2026 U.S. Women’s Open and the 2031 U.S. Open.

Executive Director of the International Golf Federation, Antony Scanlon, said:

“We are honored to work alongside LA28 and the world-renowned Riviera Country Club to host the golf competitions during the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The Riviera Country Club will offer a prestigious and continuously challenging backdrop for golf’s most elite players, and we look forward to sharing one of the finest courses with our fans around the world.”

This is the third time Los Angeles is hosting the Summer Olympic Games, the prior two occurrences happened in 1932 and 1984.

Golf returned to the Olympics in 2016, and then followed up in 2020 where Xander Schauffele won in Tokyo. Competition will take place this Summer in Paris.
