This CRAZY Rory McIlroy Stat Makes U.S. Open Putting Slip Up Even More Shocking

Rory McIlroy was 100 percent from inside three feet before his two short misses on the greens during the final round of the U.S. Open that eventually cost him his first Major Championship in ten years.

McIlroy was an incredible 496-for-496 from inside three feet this year, but his misses late during the final round cost him perhaps his best shot at a Major since the 2022 Open Championship.

McIlroy’s slip-up on the greens handed Bryson DeChambeau his second Major Championship overall, both being won at the U.S. Open.

The Major Championship drought for McIlroy continues after he has performed well at nearly all of the big four tournaments over the past few years. Since 2022, McIlroy has finished in the Top 10 at Majors eight times in eleven starts, marking an incredible track record for the Northern Irishman.

However, winning one of the four Majors is the only thing missing. McIlroy’s best chance recently was yesterday after he held a two-shot lead with just five holes to play. The two misses on the greens ended up being the difference between a U.S. Open Championship and another Top 10 finish.
