Our most recent green jacket winner has a lot going for himself coming into the PGA Championship this week at Southern Hills. He is the current favorite for the second major on the PGA Tour, coming at +1100 odds to win the tournament with Rory McIlroy just behind him at +1200.

Scottie Scheffler has some previous experience at this course having played two collegiate events and also an amateur tournament. His prior experience will play into his hands for a potential successful Major Championship performance. Scheffler’s humbleness shows time and time again not even mentioning his top finishes at this golf course.

Scheffler won 2015 Big 12 individual medalist honors at Southern Hills after shooting an even-par 280. Not only that, the 2015 Texas Longhorns Team won the tournament by 24 shots over Texas Tech.

Scheffler was accompanied by teammates like Kramer Hickok and Beau Hossler who will also be teeing it up this week at the PGA Championship for the Wanamaker Trophy.

Scheffler couldn’t have known three years ago when he was interviewed while playing on the Korn Ferry Tour that destiny would hit him. In 2019, he was asked 100 questions, and only 5 minutes into the interview he was asked about the best course he has played.

Scheffler, straight out, said Southern Hills is probably my favorite golf course. Cosquenidently enough Scheffler is the favorite to win playing at arguably one of his favorite golf courses. It could very well be the recipe for success at the 2022 PGA Championship.
