SPOTTED: Tiger Woods Showing Off His New Balls At Torrey Pines

This week the PGA tour returns to Torrey Pines. As Tiger embarks on his chase for career win 83, he will have a new key addition to his bag. No, I’m not talking about a new driver or wedge… You’re out of your mind if you think Scotty has been put back on the shelf. It’s a small change but its impact is on every shot. Tiger will be playing the new Bridgestone Tour B XS according to @johnathanrwall from golf.com.

I don’t think anyone in the history of golf has sold more golf merchandise than Tiger Woods. Whatever he’s got, we want and we’re willing to pay for it. Pro tip, mock turtlenecks are not for everyone… just saying. Anyway, Tiger has been playing the Bridgestone ball for years even when it had a different cover on it. After seeing this recent add for the ball, I’m excited to see how he performs with it.

The ball is designed to fit golfers with tour fast swing speeds of over 105mph. Now if you can’t swing that fast, it’s not for you. The TOUR B XS has softer feel and maximum greenside spin. According to the Bridgestone website, this feature allows you to stop approach and pitch shots on a dime. The site also says one key thing, “Designed and played by Tiger Woods”.

I don’t swing like a tour pro and I only know one or two people who can with consistency. However, if this ball is designed by Tiger and he wins this weekend……. Bridgestone can just have all my money because I’m still going to buy the damn thing. At $44.95 a dozen, it’s not outrageously priced so it might be worth it to pretend like I have Tour talent, even if it’s not designed for players like myself.

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
