Steph Curry Has Rough Day in Celebrity Tournament

Steph Curry has the golf game to come (on some level).  In fact,  he even earned an invite to a Web.Com tournament earlier this year.  You may think this guy’s on a role having just banked his third NBA Championship, but Steph isn’t as perfect as you may think.

Curry was having a decent day until he hit the 17th hole. While trying to escape a greenside bunker, a fan yelled at him, saying something about the shot being a “brick three,” which in basketball terms is a lousy shot. Curry remained professional, doing something that would make any player chuckle.

Instead of confronting the fan that jeered at him, Curry asked for another ball and plopped it right in the sand, challenging the fan to come out and hit a better shot! The fan actually did come out and attempt the shot, promptly bombing the ball 80 feet over the green. Afterward, the two made up and Steph really respected him for actually obliging his request.

Curry talked about the incident, saying that it ended up being in all good and fun. “He airmailed it about 80 yards into the grandstand behind the green,” Steph said. “So it’s not as easy as it looks out there. I commend him for trying because some guys would have backed down. But he came out there in flip-flops and tried it. It was a good back and forth.”

That wasn’t the only bad time that Curry encountered. At one point when the group was slowed down, Steph’s caddie pulled out a basketball in an attempt to challenge him at his own sport. And the caddie of all people was able to crossover the NBA All-Star leading to a lot of cheers and jeers. Had to be a pretty embarrassing moment for one of the faces of basketball.

So, I think it’s fair to say that Steph took a lot of L’s on this day. But with his skills on the court and on the links, I’m sure he’ll be able to get back up on his horse in no time.
