The NIL is a relatively new thing. The best way to summarize it is that student-athletes can now earn money for their name and likeness with companies.

At first, this was thought to really only impact college athletes but it’s quickly growing beyond that. Athletes of all ages and grade levels can benefit from these programs without the threat of their academic eligibility being revoked. This isn’t just limited to college and high school athletes.

6-year-old golfing phenom Patton Green has just signed with Sunday Golf CO for the youngest-ever NIL sports deal.

I’ve been a fan of Sunday golf for a few years now. They offer a high-quality, lightweight Sunday golf bag that not only looks good but it’s functional. For me, a full-grown adult, I only use if for the range or par 3 rounds. But for 6-year-old golf phenom Patton Green, it’s perfect for him to get around the course and carry only what he needs. Patton is a Southern California native who has been crowned the 2022 state champion for 6 with 9 other first-place finishes!

He is regarded as one of the top young golfers in the nation, and with this NIL deal, he’s going to reap the rewards of his hard work from a very young age.

Sunday Golf (@sundaygolf_co) is partnering with Patton to help inspire kids to take up the game of golf. The exact terms of the deal are undisclosed, but I think this is absolutely awesome. Not only for Patton but for youth golf in general. When other kids see the joy this kid has playing the game we love so much, it will inspire them to put down the controller and pick up a putter.

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
