Tee Boxes at the U.S. Open are Getting Stacked Up, Causing Pace of Play Issues
Tee boxes at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 are getting stacked up with multiple groups, causing pace of play problems.
The issue could cause some rhythm problems for some players, most notably Tiger Woods, whose game benefits from staying moving and keeping warm.
Pinehurst No. 2 is already playing extremely firm and conditions have not gotten to be as tough as they eventually will as the course gets dehydrated. Greens are fast and hard to hit, and the problems players are being confronted with is causing serious issues with pace of play.
At the Par 4 4th hole at Pinehurst No. 2, three groups had been backed up waiting to tee off due to these issues:

Low scores are expected to be shot this week. Pinehurst could offer the toughest course conditions in several years, as Brooks Koepka was the last winner to finish over par when he won in 2018 at Shinnecock Hills with a score of +1.
CBS Sports predicts the winning score will be -2.
