Tiger Woods Working With Son Charlie to Prepare for the U.S. Open
Given that we have seen un-Tiger-like golf out of Tiger Woods since his return from severe leg injuries in a 2021 car accident, it’s tough to envision Woods turning back time at Pinehurst for this week’s U.S. Open.
But so much of Woods’ game relies on his strength, and the 48-year-old says he feels like he’s physically ready for the year’s third major.
Woods said on Tuesday:
“I feel like I have the strength to go and [win]. It’s just a matter of doing it.”
Since Woods arrived in Pinehurst, North Carolina, on Sunday, there has been another person by his side – along with caddie Lance Bennett – and that’s his son, Charlie Woods.

The father-son duo was on the course Sunday and Monday, and given that Woods doesn’t have a golf coach this year, Charlie has been playing the part this week.

Woods appears to be getting healthier. He played all four rounds at the Masters but missed the cut at the PGA Championship.
One thing is for sure: Pinehurst will be a challenge regardless of a golfer’s age. In fact, the greens were slowed down a bit on Tuesday night.
Woods will be teeing off at 7:29 a.m. for Round 1 on Thursday, playing with 2022 U.S. Open champ Matt Fitzpatrick and Will Zalatoris.
