It’s official people! The Match 2.0 is set for May 24th at 3 pm EST and I’m all in. While the last match didn’t live up to the hype, this time we have two all-time NFL legends joining in. The group recently joined Ernie Johnson from TNT via video chat to discuss the event and exchange some trash talking.

Between Peyton twisting the knife in the hearts of Boston fans, and Tom bringing in Peyton’s dad, I really hope this ends up the way it is supposed to be. When I think of the most fun rounds of golf I’ve ever had, they all involved a ton of trash talk. We know how Phil and Tiger like to jab each other when playing, so I expect this to go to another level.

The match is set to take place at the Medalist Golf Club and it will be simulcast on TNT, TBS, truTV and HLN. If you want Pre-match coverage, that will be available via the Bleacher Report app. The group will be playing team match play with a Four-Ball (best ball) format on the front nine and a modified alternate shot on the back nine. Each player will tee off and the teams will then pick the best drive, followed by alternate shot. The plan is to keep it competitive but fun to watch. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning taking shots at each other will bring this up another level and it’s sure to bring many laughs.

This is how you bring sports back! There’s nothing better than drinking a beer at home and watching 4 all-time greats on the golf course talk shit to each. While I’m excited to enjoy sports again, the best thing about this event is that there will be a 10-million-dollar donation made to COVID-19 relief. Paired with the other fundraising efforts, this event should be huge for the battle against COVID-19. I can’t wait for May 24th and I’m guessing you can’t either!

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
