Our recent Scotland golf trip was in a word…EPIC!

A total of ten rounds played over the course of six days with some highlights including The Old Course at St. Andrews, Kingsbarns Golf Links, and even some old school Hickory Golf mixed in at Kingarrock.

We will undoubtedly be talking about the trip in detail on the podcast for some time to come, and very shortly we’ll be releasing the Scotland Series of videos (something I’m quite excited to share with you all). But for now, let’s take a quick look at the “Tale of the Tape” thanks to our friends at Shot Scope.

Scotland-Stats-1

Of all the rounds we played I’d say I’m probably most proud of the 88 I shot at the Old Course. It was wet out there and I’d be lying if I said nerves didn’t come into play that day…after all…we’re were playing the Old Course, a bucket list track if there ever was one!

Kingsbarns also definitely lived up to the hype.

The course was easily as pure as anywhere I’ve ever played and there was plenty of challenge to keep you on your toes. Truth be told, the 95 I shot there was a bit messy but if there is one positive I can take away from the round it’s the fact that I parred all of the Par 5 holes that day (I can’t recall the last time I did that).

And although playing the big names like The Old Course and Kingsbarns were experiences I’ll remember for a lifetime, there were plenty of other moments at hidden gems like Crail, Elie, Ladybank, and Lundin Links that bring a big old smile to my face when I think back on them.

Obviously the pictures, videos, and memories are great, but thanks once again to Shot Scope, Mike and I can also dive quite a bit deeper into our stats from the trip as well:

Scotland-Stats-2

It really is nothing short of incredible to see how closely we were matched on this trip. A 0.3 putts-per-round differential between us…what are the chances of that?!?

Anyway, hitting 40% of fairways and 25% of GIR are stats I’m happy with, and they’re fairly close to the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year.

In the end the trip was obviously a massive success, and as I said earlier, I’m very much looking forward to sharing the videos with you all after we put the finishing touches on them later this summer.

So stay tuned, because the Scotland Series is going to be epic…
