Ahead of the Open this week, Brooks Koepka let everyone in on the thing that just drives him absolutely nuts…

“I don’t mind making mistakes, making a bad swing, whatever,” Koepka said to GOLF.com

“At the PGA I started off with a double. I made a mental mistake, so that drives me nuts,” he says. “I kind of pride myself on not making mental mistakes during majors.”

So, it’s not that one annoying golfer who’s always trying to get in his way, or people saying he doesn’t show up for regular events that bothers him; it’s his own mental errors that really annoy him.

Koepka, who’s obviously good at keeping this in check at Majors, has maybe given us a glimpse of why he struggles during other events.

The mental game is just as tough, if not tougher than the technical, and Koepka, like everyone else, has yet to master the art.

Just good to know that Koepka, like so many of us amateurs, is prone to mental error just as much as technical error.
