Tiger Woods’ Backup Putter Sells For $400,000
With the world of sports memorabilia going absolutely nuts at the moment, it’s been reported that just this week, Tiger Woods’ backup Scotty Cameron putter sold at auction for nearly 400,000 dollars.

The putter was a backup made by Cameron, an exact replica of Woods’ then gamer, and was one of two backups that Cameron reportedly produced for Woods each year. This particular 2002 Newport II never saw the light of day, though it is reported that Woods did use it for experimentation and practice.
Also included with the putter was a letter of authenticity, from Scotty Cameron himself.

A similar backup of Woods’ from 2001 sold for just over 150,000 dollars. The 2002 that was bought at auction this week is beloved to be the most expensive golf club ever sold.
A true piece of history, and probably the next best thing, considering Woods’ probably won’t ever give up his personal gamer.
