Tiger Woods’ Irons and Wedges Used To Win “Tiger Slam” To Hit Auction
The Titleist 681-T irons and Vokey wedges that Tiger Woods used throughout 2000 and into 2001 to win four consecutive majors to complete the “Tiger Slam” are up for auction for the first time since 2010.
Golden Age Auctions will be the ones listing and selling the clubs. The opening bid will be at $25,000, but they are expected to sell for more than $680,000.

Golden Age founder, Ryan Carey said:
“I do wonder if [the irons] will be the first golf collectible to break the $1 million mark… It’s not like there are many people collecting used iron sets, as it’s just not feasible, so it’s hard to know the market. These aren’t exactly baseball cards.”
The iron set is 2-iron through pitching wedge and the wedges are 58-degrees, bent to 56-degrees, and 60-degrees both stamped with “TIGER” on them. Each club has visible wear marks right in the center of the club face.
Back in 2010, the set sold for $57,242 to a Houston business man named Todd Brock.

Carey said:
“The $57,000 number sounds extremely low now, but that was a low point for sports memorabilia and a low point for Tiger Woods memorabilia… I’ve been trying to get these back ever since, and I finally convinced Todd to let me sell them just for history’s sake. He doesn’t need the money, and I told him this will break records.”
The bidding on these clubs is set to wrap up on the Saturday of the Masters on April 9th.
These are definitely going to go for big money. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if they went for $1 million or more. It’s going to be interesting to see what they end up going for. Any guesses?
