Tiger Woods, Nike Announce Decision on Partnership
Tiger Woods released a statement this morning regarding his future with Nike, and it appears that the partnership is coming to an end.
Ever since Charlie Woods was spotted in Greyson during the PNC Championship and Tiger’s awkward response—”I’m still wearing their product”—to whether he’s extending his long-term relationship with Nike Golf. And while today did not bring us a more definite answer to that question, it seems that we may have received the unofficial confirmation.

In a cryptic, uncertain statement, Tiger used past tense verbiage when expressing his appreciation for his time with Nike and their team members. He then concluded with an even more unclear statement “People will ask if there is another chapter. Yes, there will certainly be another chapter.”
This, of course, leaves us asking, “What does this even mean?”
We will keep our eyes very close to this breaking development, but what is clear is that many are reading the tea leaves and concluding that Tiger’s days with Nike are officially over and that a new partner—whether that means a new TGR clothing brand, a partnership with another apparel vendor or, perhaps, a new endeavor from an established brand—will be announced very soon.
That last one seems to be the favorite right now, as we noted, during early December, that TaylorMade had active job listings for positions within an apparel division, including a Social Media Manager and Director of ECommerce. Many forget that while Tiger was married to Nike, adidas sold off TaylorMade to a private equity firm in 2017 (who then sold it to another private equity firm in 2021).
So, while TaylorMade has never had an apparel division because it was, in fact, owned by an apparel company until recently, now may be the final time for the TaylorMade brand to cash in on the Tiger Woods name with the launch of an all-new apparel division.
If this turns out to be true, the first question everyone will be asking is, “What does the Sunday red look like?”
