TRENDING: Mickelson Reemerges, Will Play in LIV Golf Event and PGA Championship
It’s been a very long and quiet few weeks for Phil Mickelson after making some comments to Alan Shipnuck regarding the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League that cost him sponsorships with Callaway, KPMG, and several others.
Now that The Masters has passed, it appears that it’s finally time for the phoenix to rise.

Reports are emerging that Phil has submitted a release request to the PGA TOUR to play in the first LIV Golf event, being held outside of London at the Centurion Club between June 9-11, 2022. But before heading across the Atlantic, Phil’s agent, Steve Loy, released a statement stating Phil has also submitted his application for the PGA Championship (May 19-22, 2022) and, following the LIV event, the U.S. Open (June 16-19, 2022).
Phil hasn’t played competitively since the Farmers Insurance Open back in January, so it’ll be very interesting to see if there are some Mickelson sightings during the next few weeks since, as of right now, it does not appear that Phil will be playing in any TOUR events before the PGA Championship, being hosted at Oak Hill Country Club (Rochester, NY).

Make sure to keep your eyes open for this developing story and the forthcoming response from PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan, who has already threatened to impose a lifetime ban for any TOUR defectors.
