Tiger Woods and his girlfriend Erica Herman (General Manger of The Woods Jupiter restaurant) have been named in a wrongful death suit filed on Monday May 13th. The incident occurred last year on December 10th when former bartender of “The Woods” restaurant Nicholas Immesberger crashes his vehicle on his way home.

According to reports his BAC was three times the legal limit. The lawsuit alleges that the victim was over-served for hours before the unfortunate accident. Per the lawsuit “the employees and management at The Woods continued to serve Immesberger alcohol to the point of intoxication knowing that he had driven to work and had no other way home.” The lawsuit goes on to state that employees knew Immesberger had a problem with alcohol (General allegations line 38) and had even been seen drinking with Woods and Herman a week prior at the restaurant. Immesberger’ s parents are seeking damages of $15,000. The full details of the suite can be found here.

This is a tragic turn of events that could have been avoided. Tiger is competing at the 2019 PGA Championship this weekend at the famous Bethpage Black course. You can expect his legal team to do all they can to keep this as quiet as possible. Because the damages listed in the document are minimal to someone like Woods, I would expect this to play out quietly and privately between Woods and the victim’s family.
