Harrowing video of a dramatic crash-landing of a small plane into a golf clubhouse in Sacramento, California, thankfully left no one seriously injured.

Sacramento television station KCRA reported that the pilot gave a “mayday” signal three times before skidding through the practice green and into the clubhouse at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex.

An official report said that the pilot, who emerged with just a cut on his hand, experienced an engine failure at 400 feet shortly after takeoff, and he announced his intention to land on the course.

The surveillance video shows that it was a close call for both a golfer and those in the clubhouse.

Ken Morton Jr., whose company operates the course, said:

“Literally 10 feet to the right, it would have gone through our glass door, straight into the pro shop. I have lots of staff, lots of customers in there and it would have been really disastrous. Anything could have happened, and the fact it ended up with everyone being OK is really a miracle.”

The only damage done to the course was on the putting green. It’s closed off while the grass regrows, but the rest of the course is open for business.
