Weekend Leader Jon Rahm Forced To Withdraw Due To Positive COVID-19 Test
After taking a commanding lead in the third round at Memorial, Jon Rahm is now being forced to withdraw due to a positive COVID test.
It was only after completing the round that Rahm learned of his positive test, forcing the early withdrawal. Rahm had come into contact with someone COVID positive prior to the start of the tournament, and as such was under strict watch and guidelines for the tournament.

However, Rahm had tested negative multiple times before, and was largely asymptomatic. Rahm’s most recent test, though, which was taken after the finish of the second round, came back positive. The results were not obtained until 4:20 p.m. ET today while Rahm was still playing. A confirmatory test was performed to double check, and thus, the results were verified; Rahm tested positive for COVID-19.
Due to TOUR protocol, instead of being able to finish out the week (a week in which he’s playing extremely well) he will be forced to give up his lead, and can no longer participate.
Here was exactly happened.
