After the Olympic break, all eyes in the men’s golf world now shift to the PGA Tour and the upcoming FedEx Cup playoffs.

Before the playoffs begin, the last event of the regular season, the Wyndham Championship, is upon us.

Under the current PGA Tour rules, the top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings will advance to the FedEx St. Jude Championship next week. After that, the top 50 move on to the BMW Championship, but perhaps more importantly, those 50 get a golden ticket into all of the majors and Signature Events for 2025.

For the Wyndham, 21 of the top 50 are in the field, including all of Nos. 43-50: Keegan Bradley, Denny McCarthy, Will Zalatoris, Mackenzie Hughes, Jake Knapp, Harris English, Austin Eckroat, and Nick Taylor.

In addition, the next four outside of the top 50 will also be playing: Patrick Rodgers, Justin Rose, Aaron Rai, and Eric Cole.

That group should all be safe to play next week in Memphis, but a strong run this week in Greensboro will take some of the pressure off.

Those facing the pressure this week are the following:

  1. Mark Hubbard
  2. Nick Dunlap
  3. Jhonattan Vegas
  4. Emiliano Grillo
  5. Seamus Power
  6. Brendon Todd
  7. Victor Perez
  8. Davis Riley
  9. Andrew Putnam
  10. Kurt Kitayama
  11. Luke List

Of that group, Vegas and Perez have the most momentum. Vegas was the surprise winner of the 3M Open two weeks ago, and Perez just missed out on medaling in Paris by finishing fourth over the weekend.
