You Won’t Believe what this TOUR Pro Pays in Rent Each Month

Many pro athletes are known for spending lavishly once they make it to the big time.

Not Ludvig Aberg.

The 24-year-old Swede has already earned over $3 million in prize money on the PGA Tour alone since turning pro last June. He also won on the DP World Tour and was part of the victorious European team in last fall’s Ryder Cup.

But on the Talk of the Tour podcast last week, Aberg said that he cut a great deal for his living arrangements in the United States.

“I’m paying [Vincent Norrman] $400 per month, so I’ve never lived cheaper than I do now,” Aberg said. “I started by saying $500 and then he goes, ‘How about $300,’ so I said, ‘Okay, let’s do $400.”

Norrman, also from Sweden and a winner on the PGA Tour last summer, attended college at Florida State University and currently is Aberg’s landlord in Tallahassee, Florida.

This should come as no surprise to those who have followed Aberg’s rapid ascent in pro golf. When he earned his PGA Tour card while playing at Texas Tech, he celebrated at the local Chipotle.

Aberg also revealed last month that he turned down a huge sum to join LIV Golf.

Another perk of living in Florida, as Aberg is soon to discover when he files with Uncle Sam on that $3 million in earnings? No state income tax!

Chris has worked in sports journalism for nearly 20 years and also loves the game of golf, even though it often doesn't love him back. Year-round golf is a perk of living in Florida, where Chris moved from his native New York shortly after graduating from college. Chris has played some famous courses in the state, including Bay Hill in Orlando and Innisbrook in the Tampa Bay area, and next on his to-do list is the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass to take a crack at the famous island hole.
