Last month, Callaway announced that it would be the first major OEM equipment manufacturer to partner with a LIV team: Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII.

While many talking heads and critics continue to claim that LIV is “dying,” today’s announcement would suggest just the opposite.

Torque GC, which is led by Team Captain Joaquin Niemann, announced today that it was now a part of “Team PING,” reaching an equipment partnership with one of golf’s most reputable brands.

The partnership will officially launch this weekend at LIV Mexico City, and shouldn’t be a difficult change for any of Torque’s members given that each of them had been PING golfers.

PING CEO & President John K. Solheim, said:

“All four of the Torque GC team members played PING equipment prior to turning professional and continue to do so today. We’ve had strong relationships with each of them throughout their careers. They are great friends and tremendous competitors. We look forward to following their successes both as a team and individuals as they help increase PING’s awareness to golfers around the world.”

Niemann, who currently sits No. 1 in the Individual Standings, has notched four individual wins since joining the LIV circuit in 2022, including two of the first four events this season. He also prevailed on the Asian Tour late last year at the Saudi International, claiming the title and the distinction of being the first to win with PING’s new G440 driver.

As for the team, Torque GC has won four team events since being formed in 2023.

While the 2025 professional golf season is just getting started, it will be interesting to see how Torque and its members will compete, both on the LIV circuit and elsewhere, with the official support of PING.

Moreover, the Torque-PING announcement further confirms that the anti-LIV stance has, more or less, worn off, as additional brands look to secure partnerships before being left out.
