Bubba Watson RELEGATED from LIV Golf – But Is It Really Relegation?
Bubba Watson is being relegated from LIV Golf after failing to finish in the league’s Top 48, but is it really a relegation?
Not particularly.
Although the captain of the RangeGoats finished 53rd in the season-long standings after a tie for 42nd at the LIV Golf Chicago season finale, don’t expect to see him trying to grind it out on the Asian Tour for a spot back in LIV.
RangeGoats team board has two LIV Golf executives on it, and Watson could be brought back if there is a “business reason” for doing so, Sports Illustrated reported.

GM of the RangeGoats Randall Wells said:
“He’s very disappointed with the way he’s played. He’s had a bad run of 11 tournaments or so and we consider this a slump and not a downturn. We’ve already had realistic discussions about this and his teammates have confidence that he will return to form. Our goal is to be a competitive team.”
RangeGoats finished 12th out of 13 teams at the season finale, while Cam Smith’s Rippers GC won the championship.
The team is comprised of Watson, Peter Uihlein, Thomas Pieters, and Matthew Wolff.
Watson, a two-time Masters Champion, wore the Green Jacket in 2012 and 2014. He is perhaps the most notable name to be under the threat of relegation.
However, he will likely be back for LIV’s 2025 season.
