Many of us try to pick the winner of every golf tournament, and more often than not, that is going to be a losing bet (Don’t worry, I’ll still be handing out winners). But there is value in  much more than just picking the outright winner of the tournament. A personal favorite of mine is the hole in one prop bet that inevitably hit on the last stretch of the Sunday at the PGA Championship. So who doesn’t love making a little cash? I’m going to make sure that happens when it’s all said and done on Sunday at Pebble, no matter who the winner is.

Let’s start off with some matchups. These are always something to look at more closely. I could easily be wrong, because at the end of the day, Vegas always wins. But after predicting both Tiger to win The Masters and Koepka to win the PGA, I’m your best shot.

1st Matchup: Harris English ML (-125) over Chesson Hadley

This is one of those diamonds in the rough that you find through actually taking some time to do some research. If I’m being honest, before I looked both these players up, I was going to say Chesson will easily take this one because I saw him play a Web.com Tour event once a couple years ago. Hand up, I was wrong. Hadley has played atrociously this season, including at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am, where the course was probably not even close to the US Open setup it’s in now and he still missed the cut and shot 9 over. Stick with Harris English on this one

2nd Matchup: Ian Poulter + 1 ½ (-140) over Bubba Watson

On this one, we at least have some more marquee names, but then again, it’s about winning, not watching the big guys (although I can tell you we’re picking some big names to win it all). At Pebble, players are going to have to be accurate drivers of the ball so they’re not stuck in the high stuff trying to salvage holes. Bubba Watson ranks just 158th in driving accuracy, while Poulter is 43rd. Poulter takes this one and it’s not even close.

3rd Matchup: Justin Harding ML (-135) over Viktor Hovland

As much as I want to root for my guy Hovland from Oklahoma State, I just don’t see him beating out Justin Harding, who has strung together a decent season and ranked 29th on the tour in driving accuracy. This one could be close, but if Harding plays like he did at The Masters where he finished T12, he takes this one. Now we’ll move onto a Top 10 pick, and my two picks to be the winner.

Top 10: Patrick Cantlay (+185)

Cantlay has just had such a great and consistent season so far, finishing T9 at The Masters, T3 at the PGA, and is coming off of a win at The Memorial. The value isn’t spectacular but he’s always in the mix.

Top 10: Rickie Fowler (+300)

Who knows if this is Rickie’s time to finally win a major. But what you do know is that he’s always in the mix. Good value on this too.

To win the US Open: Brooks Koepka (+750) and Jordan Spieth (+1700)

It doesn’t take a genius to pick Brooks Koepka, who is always absolutely dialed in at majors. But I’m riding high with my guy Jordan Spieth here. It could be a good week for him if he continues the rampant pace he’s been at on the Spieth Comeback Tour 2k19.

That’ll be all for the US Open pi- BONUS: Brooks Koepka 1st Round Leader (+1450) cks. Good luck everyone, but mostly me.
