Free Your Swing with Callaway Apparel’s SWING TECH Collection

Not too long ago, “athletic” was a word that you’d never see in the same sentence as “golf.”  And then, as many great modern golf stories go, Tiger Woods came onto the scene.  Indeed, Tiger really took golf fitness to the next level and solidified that the next generation of golfer’s needed to be athletes to compete and succeed at the sport’s highest level.

But what about golf apparel?

Callaway Apparel’s goal for SWING TECH was to take golf apparel into the next generation by creating golf apparel that is the least restrictive and, simultaneously, allows the greatest range of motion.

And given the fact that the most powerful swing is a powerful combination of the upper and lower body working together, Callaway has made sure that SWING TECH has you covered from head to toes.

Indeed, I was immediately surprised how much more comfortable and lighter these were in comparison to my standard khaki golf shorts.  I was able to move entirely unrestricted while going through my brief pre-round warm-up routine and throughout the round (particularly when I was climbing in and out of bunkers).

Next, the SWING TECH Polos, where the most noticeable change will be in the design and construction around the shoulders.  Indeed, the new seam construction and performance-blend fabric provide a much greater range of motion, which is coupled with Callaway’s proven Opti-Dri moisture-wicking technology that helps pull sweat away from your body to help keep you cool and dry on even the hottest days.

What immediately caught my attention was how lightweight the SWING TECH Polos were.  In fact, while playing in humid, mid-90s weather while I was in the Dominican Republic, I was amazed that the SWING TECH Polo never felt like it was weighing me down or heavy.  Plus, the Opti-Dri material also helped make sure that I never felt like I was overheating, which really helped me maintain my energy throughout the back 9.

Finally, the SWING TECH Pullover (specifically, the Cooling+ 1/4 zip), which, similar to the Polos, features a lightweight, breathable fabric with SWING TECH panels located in shoulders that provide plenty of stretch and, despite having an extra layer on, make sure nothing is inhibiting your swing.  In fact, the SWING TECH Pullover instantly become my go-to option during the past few weeks when it’s still been in the high-50s, low-60s by the time I step up to the first tee.

While there are lots of golf apparel brands that feature different patterns and colors, there really isn’t anybody out there selling golf clothes that complements that athletic movement in a golf swing.  Until now.  SWING TECH’s tagline does exactly what it says: BRINGS IMPROVEMENT TO EVERY MOVEMENT.  After having the opportunity to try out the new Shorts, Polos, and Pullover, there’s no doubt that I’ll be replacing some of my preferred colors and patterns with a SWING TECH upgrade.
