Report: LIV Golf Focusing on European Ryder Cup Team Member for 2024

After making the blockbuster signing of Jon Rahm, it was rumored that LIV Golf would nab a few other golfers who played in the 2023 Ryder Cup.

U.S. Ryder Cup team member Tony Finau publicly issued a denial that he was going to join. Last week, it was reported that teammate Wyndham Clark would be joining Rahm’s team, but the Flushing It account on X (formerly Twitter) reported that talks fell through.

Now, The Telegraph in the United Kingdom reports that LIV has its sights set on European team member Tyrrell Hatton. This after fellow Europeans Tommy Fleetwood and Nicolai Hojgaard reportedly rejected offers.

Highly touted amateur Caleb Suratt and Kieran Vincent, who qualified for LIV during its Q-school type event in December, joined Rahm’s team, but finding another big name to join the 2023 Masters champion has been a difficult task.

Hatton left some wiggle room in his denial when he said:

“There’s a lot of people who have [talked with LIV], and I don’t think there is anything to shy away from.”

When asked if he was staying put on the PGA Tour, Hatton replied;

“As of right now, yeah.”

LIV needs to move quickly to fill out Rahm’s team. The 2024 season tees off in a week in a half on Feb. 2 in Mayakoba, Mexico.
