Paul Azinger Retires from Commentary after NBC Chooses Not to Renew
Paul Azinger has parted ways with NBC, giving his last call in the commentary booth.
He was last heard at the Ryder Cup in Rome, overseeing the European obliteration of the Ryder Cup team. He was the lone US Ryder Cup winning captain of the 2000’s with his successful 2008 side in Valhalla, defeating Nick Faldo’s European side. Incidentally, Azinger was in the booth alongside Faldo from 2005 to 2015 as an ESPN analyst.
Paul Azinger’s time at NBC has come to an end. 👀

‘Zinger’ as he was affectionately known had a strong career in the booth, often coming across rather old-school, a cross between the modern commentator with hints of Peter Aliss. He succeeded Johnny Miller in 2018 – the same man who had given him his start in the broadcasting sphere back in 1995.
Most of the early responses suggest the change should have been made a while ago – but there are a smattering of Zinger fans in the mix.
Speculation is now stirring over who will take his seat!
