SPOTTED: Next Gen Pro V1 and Pro V1x Golf Balls Make Debut
It’s been 20 years since Titleist’s original Pro V1 prototypes were first introduced to PGA Tour players at the Invensys Classic, hosted by TPC Summerlin. Winner Billy Andrade was one of 47 players who immediately put the ball in play that week, marking a groundbreaking shift in equipment usage at a single event that has yet to be surpassed.
And 20 years later, Titleist is now preparing to unveil the next generation of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls at, once again, TPC Summerlin.

Following a rigorous two-year development process, the next generation Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls are now available to PGA Tour players to use in competition, with the first opportunity coming Thursday in Las Vegas.
The final Pro V1 and Pro V1x prototypes, which are manufactured at Titleist Ball Plant 3 in New Bedford, Mass., are being delivered to player’s lockers today at TPC Summerlin. Players will have the opportunity to work with Titleist Golf Ball R&D representatives on-site so they can test and determine the new model that best fits their game.
Similar to the recently released TSi drivers, the Pro V1 and Pro V1x prototypes are just beginning Titleist’s seeding and validation process that will continue over the coming weeks and months. During this process, Titleist looks to gather feedback from the game’s best players through every stage of the R&D process, which then earns their validation under the pressure of competition. These are critical elements in the development of all high-performance Titleist golf equipment.

With the Pro V1 and Pro V1x being trusted by more than 74 percent of all players on the PGA Tour and across the major worldwide tours, and likely even more at the top amateur, college and junior events, the next generation Pro V1 and Pro V1x are expected to make the best performing, most consistent and highest quality golf balls in the game even better.
