STYLE: SQAIRZ ARROW Golf Shoes // Performance Focused
There are a LOT of golf shoes out there, ranging from the more traditional, leather oxford look to the more modern, sneaker-style. Be that as it may, there are now lots of golf shoe companies and, therefore, each needs to do something unique to stand apart from everything else out there.

SQAIRZ Golf shoes has one additional focus that separates its products from the herd: performance.

Starting from the ground, SQAIRZ features six Pivix Softspikes, however, immediately noticeable is that 3 of the spikes are red, which signal pressure points that, in conjunction with the Torque Generation System (TGS) outsole soft spikes and traction pattern, promote a stronger connection with the ground to help maximize torque, swing speed and, ultimately, distance.
Indeed, a well-designed, cleat pattern can have a quantifiable impact on performance, as evidenced by an independent study conducted at Pinehurst Golf Resort by PGA of America pro Eric Alpenfels and Dr. Bob Christina, Emeritus Professor of Kinesiology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, which showed that golfers gain an average of 4.35 carry yards when using spiked shoes. Furthermore, the test group showed that Smash Factor and ball speed all also improved with spiked shoes.
Above the sole is SQAIRZ’s patented, wide toe box that allows your feet to rest and sit comfortably inside the shoe. However, true to SQAIRZ’s design commitment to performance, the squared-off toe box also provides a visual aid that helps golfers align themselves to their intended target.

Towards the rear, the EVA foam midsole and TPU heel stabilizer that runs from the heel into the arch provides comfort, while also centering the foot to promote proper biomechanics.
Up top, SQAIRZ’s Sta-Put Laces feature silicon studs that allow you to tighten the shoe without fear that the laces will loosen and release tension. This is further complemented by a gusseted tongue that prevents water, sand and dirt from seeping into your shoe. Together, your foot is, essentially, locked in and kept dry.
It’s worth noting that all of the above-mentioned features are available on both of SQAIRZ’s models: the ARROW and 20/20.
ON-COURSE TEST
I on-course tested the ARROWs, and they delivered. Immediately noticeable was the wider sole of the shoe, which provided noticeable, additional stability when I needed to break out the long-drive swing for a Par 5 tee shot or balance in a bunker. I can promise you that, absent you completely losing balance and falling over, you will NOT be able to roll over a pair of SQAIRZ’s onto their side, thereby robbing you of power, stability and, consequently, a quality swing.
While the square, toe-box was a bit awkward for the first 2-3 holes, once I acclimated the SQAIRZ toe made lining up for my next shot—whether it was from the tee box, fairway or a birdie putt—much easier and confidence inspiring, which helped remove those last-second doubts while standing over a shot if I was too open or closed.
That said, SQAIRZ’s appearance may not be something that resonates with everyone. While many shoe manufacturers are moving towards streamlined, sneaker-inspired designs, like Nike’s new Air Zoom Infinity Tour, the SQAIRZ’s may appear a tad boxy due to the squared-off toe section and wider base.
But, as discussed above, SQAIRZ’s shoes are designed with functioning following form. And when performance takes priority over everything—the additional stability, traction and balance—it’s refreshing that SQAIRZ’s elected to not comprise the strengths of the ARROWs just to release something that would aesthetically conform with the rest of the industry.

SQAIRZ are different from everything else that’s out in the golf shoe marketplace. For the golfer who struggles with alignment or is looking for some additional stability and power, SQAIRZ could provide the extra performance you won’t find elsewhere.
