Welcome to the first major week of the year, as TPC Harding Park will play host for the 2020 PGA Championship. This is bound to be a legendary tournament. Some of the biggest names in golf, all entering the week in fantastic form.

Newly crowned World No. 1 Justin Thomas enters the week fresh off his 13th PGA TOUR victory in Memphis, Brooks Koepka will be looking to defend his title for the second straight year, and Tiger Woods returns after missing the WGC-FedEx St.Jude Classic.

Let’s get into some fantasy picks:

Top Tier

Justin Thomas – $11,300

JT comes into the week as the highest priced player on DraftKings, and rightfully so. Justin has played great golf since the return, and shows no signs of slowing down. We’ve seen JT have multiple wins in a short amount of time before, so having him in the lineup this week could prove to be very beneficial.

Rory McIlroy – $10,700

Former World No.1 is still working towards putting 4, solid rounds together. On Sunday he was able to shoot a -3, 67, but didn’t even have his B game. His putting was awful, as he couldn’t figure out the speed of the greens.

He returns to a course where he’s won a big event before, as he beat Gary Woodland 4&2 at the 2015 WGC Match Play event. McIlory is overdue for a major victory, his last coming at the 2014 PGA. If he can put together 4 rounds, he’ll be hard to beat.

Xander Schauffele – $10,000

Xander always seems to fly under the radar. He is coming off a T6 in Memphis, and has shown great form since the return. Overall, in his last 10 starts, 9 of them are Top 25’s. He is a big-event machine, and always brings his game. I love Xander this week, and may be my pick to win.

Middle Tier

Collin Morikawa – $8,600

He doesn’t shy away from the big stage, and is ready to win a major. Collin has already established himself as one of the best iron players in the world, but also drives it very well.

Jason Day – $8,400

Jason is playing really good golf right now. He seemed to injure his back a few weeks ago, but has since adjusted to a swing that may be at a more comfortable speed. He finished T6 in Memphis, and placed T4 and T7 at the two events at Jack’s place. He already has a major under his belt, and will look to add another.

Matthew Fitzpatrick – $8,100

His last 2 starts were incredible. A solo 3rd at the Memorial, and a T6 in Memphis. Fitz is the ultimate grinder, and plays very consistent golf.

Other Plays

Patrick Reed – $8,000

Usually plays well after a bad week, and he was T47 at the WGC. Has one of the best short games on TOUR, which is extremely important at a major.

Tommy Fleetwood – $7,700

Another fantastic iron player. Finished T35 last week, but seemed to find something during his Sunday round of 65. Will have to get the putter hot.

I grew up in southern New Hampshire, where I first fell in love with the game of golf. I started by just going out and messing around with my buddies and focusing purely on having a good time! I never took golf seriously until I moved down to Tampa, FL to attend the University of South Florida. Go Bulls! At the start of my junior year I got a job working as a cart boy at a local private country club. This is when I started to focus on golf becoming my career. During the fall of my senior year, I turned from a 14 handicap, to a 2. I passed the PAT scoring test my first try and haven't looked back.
