The big, recent trend in golf footwear has been shoes that can perform on and off the course. While this requires ditching the spikes, golfers shouldn’t be forced to also sacrifice comfort and traction.

The all-new FJ Stratos is FootJoy’s newest release, that looks to provide unparalleled, ultra-cushioned comfort with a game-changing traction that’s all packaged in a super-soft leather uppers and can deliver top-tier performance and all-day comfort.

To start, the Stratos provides ultra-cushioned comfort with FJ’s all-new cushioning compound called StratoFoam, a proprietary foam blend that provides optimal support and comfort for conditions specific to golf, including swinging, walking and everything in between.

StratoFoam is the perfect blend of cushioning, made up of a proprietary EVA/Polyolefin mixture, which helps absorb shock for maximum comfort and energy return.

To help make sure the Stratos isn’t just comfortable and that it can also perform on the course, FootJoy is equipping its newest shoe with the all-new VersaTrax+ outsole that’s been designed to provide max traction for every lie and every condition, featuring a revolutionary anti-channeling tread pattern engineered to provide total traction coverage, reducing slippage from any angle.

The new outsole configuration utilizes multiple TPU compounds to grip any surface – a harder TPU for on-course grip and a softer TPU for traction on harder surfaces.

“Using a non-channeled design, we eliminate any rows of open tread pattern, allowing the shoe to always find the next traction element to catch onto the ground,” continued Fryer. “The VersaTrax+ outsole delivers the best combination of uncompromising on-course traction with genuine off-course versatility.”

Finally, to make sure your foot is comfortable and snug regardless of where you are, the FJ Stratos uses a beautiful, soft, premium leather upper from Pittards of England, utilizing a proprietary tanning process to achieve an ultra-luxurious, supple feel. It features an athletic-fit construction with an integrated tongue for all-around comfort and a reinforced heel for greater rear foot stability.
