FORE:Golfers Dodge Bullets On Florida Golf Course
When you go out to play a round of golf with your buddies, the only thing you think you’ll be dodging is golf balls flying from other players. Players on a Florida course had to dodge something far more dangerous.
Golfers at the J.W. Marriott Turnberry Resort outside of Miami were sent scrambling this week due to gunshots that were sounding on the course. According to reports, shots came flying by golfer’s heads and into a nearby pond. Two of the golfers that were apparently affected by the gunshots were Nick and Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers.
The craziest part of the story is that this isn’t the first time that something like this has been reported at the resort. Apparently, some golfers had reported a similar incident to the authorities earlier in the week and there was another group two weeks ago that reported shots being fired into the nearby pond.

“We are aware of a situation that is being reported,” representatives for the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa said in a statement. “The safety and security of our guests and employees is always a top priority. Because this matter is under the police department investigation, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
According to the police, it was a BB gun and pellets that were being fired into the area. While not as dangerous as other weapons, this is still a concern that the police are taking seriously. They have determined that the bullets are being fired from a high rise in the area and believe the shooter is attempting to shoot ducks that are around the pond.
So if you’re golfing in this area any time soon, you may want to keep a lookout and keep your ears open. Hopefully, in the coming days and weeks, the police will be able to get to the bottom of this and put a stop to the shootings.
