lululemon’s Golf Clothing Lineup is Good Enough for Min Woo Lee – and For You Too

lululemon is synonymous with workout apparel and clothes for the fit and fierce. This year, they decided to take on a handful of professional golfers to introduce and sport their new golf lineup, and their clothing is as good as you’d expect.

The brand has accumulated what can only be referred to as a cult-like following: people who wear lululemon are addicted to it. When I looked at it previously, I saw it as overpriced, crazy, and unnecessary. Sure, you can go to the gym in anything, and that’s something I held up until about a month-and-a-half ago when I realized there was a method to their madness.

After all, Min Woo Lee is cool with wearing it. Why shouldn’t I be?

Offerings

Of course, lululemon offers all the essentials for golfers — comfortable polos, breathable materials, pants and shorts that fit like a dream, and jackets that are versatile on the golf course or a night at the bar with your buddies.

There are a few I’d like to highlight, in specific:

Evolution Short-Sleeve Polo

In Pennsylvania, I battle with humidity for three of the four seasons. Winter is the only one where I get a break, so it’s important to stay cool out on the course, especially now.

The Evolution Short-Sleeve Polo features breathable material that is almost reminiscent of mesh. Not see through, and not revealing, but breathable and cool.

It features sweat-wicking fabric that is also four-way stretch and quick drying. If you happen to be sweating, you won’t feel it much in this lightweight polo. It’s become a go-to as the Summer months have approached and the temperatures have risen.

Pace Breaker Jacket

Most can relate to dealing with the occasional rainstorm, especially in the Spring. Sometimes, you also have a cooler night when you just need an extra layer during play or even during your downtime to stay warm.

The Pace Breaker Jacket is something I’ve turned to for both instances. It features a mock neck that provides a super clean look and is lightweight, so it won’t restrict you or weigh you down during your round.

It is also available in several colors, but I was sent this Grape Thistle tone. I really like it because it is versatile with basically any color bottoms you might wear.

I also wore it to the casino when the Kentucky Derby was going on. It went great with a pair of jeans, so you won’t only get use out of this on the course.

ShowZero™ Polo

ShowZero™ is lululemon’s newest technology, and is interestingly categorized as a “Casual” polo on their website. However, it is great for golf.

Offering a heavier material than the Evolution Short Sleeve Polo, the ShowZero™ Polo is more along the lines of something that Nike might offer. It is thicker and a little more noticeable while still offering the breathability of what the Evolution Polo does.

You will feel the difference in thickness when you get both of them in your hand. The Evolution, to me, is something that I would wear more often during the warmer months because of its lighter feel. The ShowZero™ Polo is something that I would wear when it is less humid.

cityverse Men’s Sneaker

Putting something on your feet that is comfortable after a round of golf is crucial. If you play on an older pair of shoes or maybe had some uneven terrain because you played a links course, you know what I mean.

The cityverse Men’s Sneaker is ideal because not only is it super comfortable, but it also fits the bill for something that could be worn in a post-round setting, especially for dinner. Of course, it’s not a dress shoe by any means, but it is clean-looking and goes great with a golf/dinner hybrid outfit.

I’m super particular about shoes, and I wasn’t sure if I would really love these, but they have been my go-to with jeans, shorts, and especially after golf. I also wear a pair of slides from Nike for when I just want to slide into something and go.

ABC Slim-Fit Trouser 32″L Warpstreme

It might not be the best time to wear pants out on the course, but there might be the occasional day when it is simply a better option. I still will say that my favorite pants of the year have come from Macade Golf, and this is based on fit. lululemon is definitely onto something here with their ABC Slim-Fit Trouser 32″L Warpstreme, but there are a few things I’d like to see changed.

The waist is a little tighter than other pants I’ve had in the same size, so I’d recommend sizing up in these. Additionally, having a 30″ inseam and a 32″ is definitely a length I’m not super comfortable with. Don’t worry—they do have a 30″ inseam, but they also have 28″, 32″, and so on, and so forth.

They’re a good material and feature an “Everyday Performance Warpstreme Fabric,” which gears them more toward casual wear. However, I did like them on the course, especially their breathability. They’re an ideal option for golf, but be sure to take my sizing synopsis for what it’s worth.

Overall Thoughts

lululemon has officially won me over. I really do enjoy wearing the things they have sent me and I think it is super comparable to some of the best brands I’ve worked with. I really enjoy how breathable their materials are, and seeing as I will be taking multiple trips to the beach this Summer for golf, I know I can depend on their polos to keep me cool while also wicking all of that sweat that comes as a result of the humid and salty air.

Be sure to check out a couple of my picks, and let me know what you think! I believe lululemon is truly on its way to striking another big name in the golf industry, with Min Woo Lee being their first PGA TOUR pro.
