Phil Mickelson Says PGA TOUR is Illegally Banning Wesley Bryan in Clap Back Tweet
Phil Mickelson says the PGA TOUR “blatantly admitted” that it illegally banned Wesley Bryan from participating in events after he chose to take part in LIV Golf’s “The Duels” event earlier this month.
This week, the PGA TOUR announced Bryan would be suspended for participating in the LIV Golf event that took place at Trump National Doral in Miami, where various YouTube stars lined up with big names on LIV to create what was one of the most entertaining collabs so far in the golf space.
Bryan has won on the PGA TOUR and has participated in several events. However, the TOUR invited Grant Horvat, who also participated in the LIV Duels event, to play in the Barracuda Championship in mid-July.
This point had Mickelson fuming, as a post on X showed the six-time Major winner said the TOUR was illegally banning an independent contractor and that the U.S. Department of Justice should step in:
"Here’s a question. Normally when an entity violates independent contract law, they deny that it happened and forces the contractor/individual to prove that it did. In this case the PGA Tour blatantly admits they are illegally banning an independent contractor so why doesn’t they DOJ step in and enforce the law? Why does the individual have to sue to enforcer the law? DOJ do your fffing job!"

Mickelson has been the most outspoken critic of the PGA TOUR and has consistently called out the organization for saying one thing and doing another.
In fact, it was his comments that effectively helped the PGA TOUR establish Signature Events, along with LIV Golf's influence that was pulling TOUR players away and toward the new league.
The PGA TOUR's hypocrisy is definitely on display here, as Horvat was invited to play in an event just hours before Bryan was suspended for playing in the same one. The TOUR has made several polarizing moves since the LIV Golf Duels, event threatening to suspend numerous creators who participated in the event.
So far, Bryan is the only one to receive any sort of sanctions, and it's based on his past participation in sanctioned TOUR events.
