FedEx Cup champion Scottie Scheffler says that his stance on LIV Golf pros potentially returning to the fold has softened from where things stood in 2022.

Speaking at the President’s Cup in Montreal this week, Scheffler said there was originally a lot of animosity between those who stayed on the PGA Tour and players who decided to join LIV due to litigation more than anything else.

Scheffler said:

“It’s one of those things where, like my friendships to guys out there hasn’t really changed that much. In the beginning when some of the guys were suing us, that was a bit frustrating for the players out here, but over time those things kind of fade.”

Originally, a group that included Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Patrick Reed were suing to try to continue to play on the PGA Tour, but the lawsuit was eventually dropped.

Scheffler said that players making a decision on what’s best for them as an individual is something that he never had a problem with.

The 2024 Masters winner and Olympic gold medalist said:

“At the end of the day, you have your business, and you have your personal stuff, and I try not to cross the lines too much just because things get a little hazy there sometimes.”

The Presidents Cup runs through this Sunday.
