Smash GC Lands Deal with Bald Head Blues, Leveling Talks of Billion Dollar Nike Deal
LIV Golf’s Smash GC, which is captained by five-time Major Champion Brooks Koepka, has signed a deal with Bald Head Blues, a lifestyle and performance golf brand that will be the official on-course apparel partner of the team.
Bald Head Blues will take the reigns as Smash GC’s official clothing partner, and it appears that the brand will only provide apparel for two of the team’s members: Jason Kokrak and Chase Koepka.
Matthew Wolff and Brooks Koepka have deals with Nike, so it’s unlikely they will be rocking the new Bald Head Blues apparel. Neither Wolff nor Koepka were mentioned or seen in promotional content that announced the partnership.
Proud to announce a partnership between @smashgc & @BaldHeadBlues as the official on-course apparel partner 🤝

Bald Head Blues CEO Claude Pope said:
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Smash GC. It’s a true thrill to be a part of this team, and to be their official on-course apparel partner. We look forward to bringing the Bald Head Blues brand to Smash GC fans online and in-person at merchandise tents at LIV Golf events.”
Bald Head Blues is “coined as the most authentic brand in beach and golf lifestyle,” Smash GC said in its press release. It was founded on a golf cart-only island, and is found in over 400 resorts and country clubs across the world.
Smash GC’s Jason Kokrak said:
“I’m very excited to be adding Bald Head Blues to the Smash GC family as our first official partner. From the first time I wore Bald Head Blues, I was very impressed with the fit, comfort and feel. I’m looking forward to introducing the custom line to LIV Golf and Smash GC fans and giving them a new way to support us both on and off the course.”
The deal concretely brings an end to the rumors of a billion-dollar deal between Smash and Nike, as reports from earlier this Summer had indicated the two were coming to terms on a massive deal.
The rumors had some weight, especially as Koepka and Wolff have been with Nike for years, and the deal would have been Nike’s first official partnership with a lIV Golf team. As Koepka had captured the PGA Championship earlier this year, it had brought the first Major Championship to a LIV Golf player in its two years of operation.
