Breaking | As Expected, There Will Be No Patrons at the Masters
Breaking News from Georgia. Augusta National Golf Club has announced that there will be no patrons allowed on the grounds during the playing of the 2020 Masters in November.
This news was expected to come at some point, but is still very disappointing. Many golf fans haven’t noticed a major difference in tournaments this season that haven’t had fans, but Augusta will be a different story. Patrons have always been a major part of the Masters tournament, and I’m sure they will be missed by every player in the field.
Augusta National chairmen Fred Ridley has this to say…
“Throughout this process, we have consulted with health officials and a variety of subject matter experts. Ultimately, we determined that the potential risks of welcoming patrons and quests to our grounds in November are simply too significant to overcome.”
Augusta National and Fred Ridley are looking forward to, hopefully, welcome patrons to the grounds in 2021.
