Five Must-Haves for Fall and Winter Golf
The seasons are changing, and the cooler weather has arrived. It’s not the 80 degrees and sunny that we prefer, but there are some advantages to Fall and Winter golf: cheaper greens fees, less crowded courses, and the foliage, of course.
But just like the Spring and Summer, Fall and Winter golf have their own necessities. Of course, pants and layers are needed, but there are some other things that we would suggest, especially if you’re planning to take advantage of the things we listed above as the pros of Fall and Winter golf.
Here are five things I really think you need to keep with you out on the course:
Under Armour Golf Rain Pants
The UA Golf Rain pants are adjustable at the waist, a perfect thickness, and a great quality.
They are also suitable for windier days. The material that Under Armour uses on these, a 100 percent polyester, is 2.5-layer bonded fabric with a durable exterior.
It is great for defending your skin against wind, keeping you warm during the brisk days.

Knit Winter Hat
Keep your head and ears warm with a knit winter hat. It does not matter if you pick one up with your favorite NFL team’s logo on it, or one with your favorite golf manufacturer on it.
Just make sure you throw one in your golf bag.

Here’s our favorite from Titleist.
FootJoy Thermal Base Layer
Base layers are extremely important because they help to keep your core temperature high during colder days. These are great to throw under your polo and vest, jacket, or hoodie, and will keep you toasty during the coldest days on the course.
FootJoy’s base layer is among the best I’ve tried. If you’re on a budget and have a Costco Membership, I would recommend 32 Heat. But for the money, FootJoy’s is truly the cream of the crop

Nike Infinity Tour 2 GORE-TEX
There are only a handful of golf shoes out on the market that are geared toward keeping your feet warm during cold weather, and Nike has, what is in my opinion, the best model.
I did a review on last year’s model, but I was happy to see Nike decided to release these with new features and colors.
I just got my hands on these and I really like the lower cut ankle, the new colorway, and the more spacious interior that these shoes offer. But most importantly, they are perfect for cold days.

Interestingly, they’re designed for wet weather, but they truly do keep your feet warm on windy days, better than what most shoes can offer:
“The Infinity Tour 2 ups the ante from the previous iteration with more spikes, updated foam and a flattened Air Zoom unit. It’s all in the name of swaggering strolls toward the pin as you point to where your ball just landed. With plenty of bounce and comfort, it’s game for wherever your next round takes you. This version has a waterproof GORE-TEX upper to help keep water out so your feet stay dry on the course.”

Golf Cart Heater
For the most frigid days, pick up a golf cart heater.
Mr. Heater makes one that is powered by a single propane cylinder, is wind-resistant, and is very effective. Most people will stay inside when temps get too low, but there are plenty of courses out there that have scrambles in these temperatures. It’s nice to have in a squeeze.
Amazon has a good deal on it.
